Go to a party, and you'll see half the people there chatting on their smartphones instead of chatting people up at the bar. Dine at a restaurant, and you'll see more people taking foodstagram pictures instead of actually eating.
But go to a bar, and you'll see people actually socializing in real life with their smartphones out of sight. What is this sorcery?
That's what the people behind the conceptual Offline Beer Glass envision: a place where dudes are hitting on pretty girls (and even the not-so-pretty ones) and where guys are actually talking to their friends instead of going on Snapchat.
The glass looks like most glasses, except for the smartphone-sized notch at the bottom. The glass doesn't stay upright because of that notch, and in order to stabilize it, you have to wedge your smartphone into the base of the glass. It's a devious and pretty ingenious ploy to get people to stop using their smartphones so they can enjoy the booze, the ambiance, and the people they're with.
