Who’s The Greatest Tennis Player In The World? Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic or Roger Federer?

Without question these are golden days of tennis. Rafael Nadal's victory on Monday morning at Roland Garros saw him win a record seventh French Open title but the calibre of tennis he played with Novak Djokovic was so breathtaking that it probably even made God weep. Which might explain the rain delay.

With Nadal and Djokovic in such superlative form other talented players like Roger Federer and Andy Murray have struggled to compete with these two behemoths, when as part of any other generation they would simply waltz to the top of the PTA rankings.

Federer of course has already proved himself to be possibly the greatest Tennis legend of all time but have Djokovic and Nadal now eclipsed him? Take a look below for an examination of Federer, Djokovic and Nadal's obscene talents.

Novak Djokovic - Is there an all round better sportsman out there at the moment? The Serbian has raised his game to an impeccable level over the last 18 months, which has seen him go undefeated throughout most of 2011, win the last 3 Grand Slams in a row and four out of the last five, before ultimately being defeated by Nadal earlier this week. His kamikaze and daredevil brand of tennis seems to have literally no flaws and the man can save points that look dead within the blink of an eye. Novak will be the firm favourite at Wimbledon and Flushing Meadows over the next few months and at 25 still has plenty of great years ahead of him.

Rafael Nadal - Before Djokovic upped his game, the tennis world seemed set for a long period of dominance from the Spaniard. However a poor twelve months has seen him slip behind Novak but with his victory in France he is now officially the greatest clay court player of all time, eclipsing Bjorn Borg's six French Open crowns and if he can regain his form will probably beat every other tennis record in front of him too!

Roger Federer - No man has ever played the sport as elegantly or perfectly as the gentlemanly Swiss native. Federer is now in the twilight of his career but still has the ability to rival all of the players around him and can compete on any kind of surface. However age isn't on his side and the 30 year old is more likely to slide down the standings than climb them but he has changed the sport forever and should be saluted for his incredible efforts.

Winner? At the moment, Djokovic. But it could easily be Nadal if he gets his form back.
