Screen Junkies has turned it over to the fans for January, allowing them to pick the five 2017 films they would do Honest Trailers for this month. Following The Boss Baby and mother!, their latest one is Stephen King's IT, the smash horror hit of the fall that raked in money hand over fist and did serious damage to the party clown industry.
As one of the few people who didn't see this film due to overwhelming coulrophobia, I can't speak to their accuracy in dissecting this one, but it seems pretty spot-on to me. I don't know, maybe IT superfans will disagree with me—as they're well within their right to do—but I thought they gave the film a pretty thorough savaging.
Like it or not, we're all gonna have to deal with another one of these movies as this only covered the first half of the book. Hopefully they get a killer cast for the next one because the only stars in this one were Mike from Stranger Things and a lesser Skarsgård sibling. Jessica Chastain wants to play Bev, and that seems like some pretty great casting. Fingers cross they don't botch the rest of it.
