One of the things that always impresses me about actors in sci-fi and fantasy is their ability to learn lines in a made up language. It's one thing to memorize a script in English and quite another to learn Klingon, Elvish, or Valyrian. There are whole cottage industries in Hollywood that make up these fake languages and scores of people that learn them for fun. Some have even translated the works of Shakespeare in Klingon. That's crazy, but I guess everyone needs a hobby. Someone who is really good at this is Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones. In the show she has to speak Valyrian and Dothraki with equal ability. Dothraki sounds like my great uncle clearing his throat in the morning but I guess there is a fully fleshed out vocabulary and everything.
In this clip from Late Night with Seth Meyers, Emilia recites the lyrics to the Hanson classic Mmmbop in Dothraki. That's a weird choice for a song to translate into Dothraki, you say? Have you ever listened to the lyrics carefully? That song is about death. "And mmmbop, you're gone."
