If anything at all could be considered "In Vin Diesel's Wheelhouse," I would imagine it would have to involve cars, guns, and a heaping helping of machismo. Thankfully Miami Vice ticks off all three of those boxes, which makes it a perfect fit for Diesel to reboot. Don't get too excited, however, as Diesel will not be appearing as Crockett or Tubbs, but will rather be an "Executive Producer" which is Hollywood speak for "The guy that puts up a bunch of money and then stops by the set to offer up unsolicited opinions."
According to Deadline, Diesel and his Fast & Furious producing partner Chris Morgan have helped to jumpstart a reboot of the seminal 80s cop show over at NBC. If you want to know what to expect from this reboot, it helps to remember that the original was executive produced by Michael Mann and this one will be executive produced by Vin Diesel, so expect less "Heat" and more "The Last Witch Hunter."
I kid Vin Diesel, mostly because I know he can take it. I don't imagine this will be a period piece, but thankfully fashion is cyclical, so you can expect pastels and socks-less loafers to still be the order of the day. I also expect a member of the Wayans clan to be cast as Tubbs.
