Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa is only interested in rings. No, I'm not talking about the $4 million dollar purple diamond variety, though she probably likes those as well, I'm talking about championship rings. In fact, she couldn't dream of being married to some poor sap who didn't have multiple NBA titles.
Vanessa, who filed for divorce last September but seems to have since reconciled with Kobe, was interviewed by New York Magazine and dropped this gem of a quote:
I certainly would not want to be married to somebody that can't win championships. If you're sacrificing time away from my family and myself for the benefit of winning championships, then winning a championship should happen every single year.
The thing is, Kobe probably loves that attitude, or least he better if he knows what's good for him.
Of course, it's completely unrealistic to think someone's going to win a championship every single year. Kobe has won four since marrying Vanessa back in 2001.
No word on whether or not she thinks Olympic gold is a worthy accomplishment or not.
Vanessa's brings up one question for me though. Which one of the two is more excited about the new Lakers coming to town, Kobe or Vanessa?
