GAMING
chris-littlechild - December 11, 2015
We haven't got too far through December yet, but this month has already been goddamn heavy on the remasters. The spangly new Final Fantasy VII, the HDtacular Resident Evil Zero, all that sort of business. We can't get enough of the new/old goodness lately.
A while back, we saw that Turok and its sequel were getting the same treatment for PC. Now, this, I feel some kind of way about. If you indulged in a little dinosaur hunting back in the N64 days, you'll remember what a slice of raw badass these games really were. I could get on board with this project, I really could.
Screw it, I'm in. A Native American time-travelling warrior who hunts dinosaurs with a shotgun? I don't care if you've played before, that's an offer you can't refuse right there.
So, yes. Night Dive Studios has been working on the Turok remaster for some time now, and they're giving us a quick ogle at how it's shaping up. It's looking… well, about as attractive as a bulldog's balls, if we're honest, but at least that fog's gone. Y'know, that draw-distance-deceiving fog that Superman 64 once tried to pass off as kryptonian fog or an evil trick by Lex Luther or something? That's out, though there is an option for purists to re-enable it.
