Love it or hate it—I'm in the latter camp—there's no denying that 2015's Jurassic World was a blockbuster like we hadn't seen in some time. It's spawned a resurgence of love for dinosaurs, and with the sequel due in theaters this summer, it seemed like the perfect time to put out a killer video game for the franchise. Jurassic World: Evolution looks like a pretty badass game with dinosaurs, if you're into that sort of thing.
As you can see from the trailer above, you can construct your own Jurassic Park, making this a bit like Dinosaur Tycoon. However, the ultimate point seems to be then unleashing the dinosaurs on your beautiful creation to burn it to the ground. The game hits shelves on June 12, and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opens ten days later.
On a related note, it was also announced that Colin Trevorrow will be returning to direct the third and final film in the new Jurassic World trilogy. Steven Spielberg spilled the beans to Entertainment Weekly, helping us all breathe a sigh of relief that a thoroughly mediocre director landed on his feet after getting fired from Star Wars.
