Tony Parker Playing Possum with Eye Injury?

If celebrities these days are good for anything beyond the supposed talents that have made them famous it's for a good laugh. Such was the case when Drake and Chris Brown along with their respective entourages, got in a fight over a girl that neither are actually dating anymore.

Chris Brown, his girlfriend, and a number of his entourage are reported to have suffered injuries, but it is the injury of an innocent bystander that has drawn the most attention—San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker.

While kicking back with his girlfriend, some glass hit Parker in the eye. The injury was nothing serious (or so we've been led to believe), and should have no effect on him leading the French team when the Olympics kick off next month.

However, it appears that the French national has become truly Americanized during his tenure with the Spurs. Even though he has already stated that the injury was nothing serious (the darn thing almost needed stitches; if he was an average dude he never would have gone to the hospital in the first place) he is suing the club owner for $20 million.

That's right folks. A guy that signed a four-year extension for $50 million back in 2010 is looking to get $20 million from a club owner because of a little boo boo.

The move is only going to tarnish his image. Had he not publicly declared he was fine, the suit would have made sense. As a point guard he needs to be able to rely on his vision being as close to perfect as possible in order to see the court, his teammates, make pin point passes, and be dead on with his shot. Should his vision be impaired it could severely damage his earning potential.

But we already know he's fine. So now he looks like a greedy celebrity that will only get a few hundred thousand if he's lucky. So basically, the bar tab the next time he goes out with his buddies on the French National team will be covered.

What makes this laughable is the fact that he will likely never see a dime. The club has been shut down since the incident, the manager has been arrested on a pair of outstanding warrants, and there are many others threatening to sue.

Call it a hunch, but I don't see his suit being given precedence over too many people.

(Want to hear Tony Parker's lyrical prowess?)
