Tony Parker now says his eye injury sustained when Chris Brown and Drake (and their entourages) allegedly got in a nightclub brawl was way worse than even he thought. Parker said originally that he scratched his cornea and would be fine, but now says that he went a specialist who saw a shard of glass penetrating Tony's eye.
In an interview on his own website (it's in French, by the way), Tony said that he had to have an operation to remove that shard, which had penetrated "99%" of his left eye, and that he nearly lost the eye because of it. Now Tony is possibly out of the Olympics for France.
It definitely sounds worse than he thought at first. In fact, according to a Google translation of the interview, it really sucks.
I just spent eight days trapped in my hotel. I was not allowed out to prevent infection. I was so afraid that I have not left my room.
Yikes, he's like The Boy in the Bubble, except without the bubble. Tony went on to say that he's been hallucinating, but that his career right now isn't threatened. If he plays in the Olympics will be up to the Spurs' doctors, however, considering they still have him under contract for around $50 million.
