The days of a jiggling and glistening Lara Croft seem to be behind us with the continuation of dramatic themes and grittiness in this run up to the new Tomb Raider game. There's a lot of dirt on Lara Croft. A lot. Barely surviving a plane crash with nothing to protect her but the clothes on her back, gamers will be building the legend from scratch as this semi-prequel/reboot shows how Lara Croft became the iconic hero we first got to know in the 1990s. As you watch this latest trailer about survival in the game, think back about how well Croft was pushed as a sex symbol when she was at her blockiest and how the sexuality of the character is being pushed to the side at a time when the visual elements of video games are more cinematic than ever. Blame Angelina Jolie; she's been sliding down hill since Gia anyway.
