While out promoting Cloud Atlas on Jimmy Fallon last night, struggling actor Tom Hanks made an appearance donned in black garb under a lonely spotlight and did his best slam poetry about the show Full House. As a child of the 90s, Full House was on in my house every TGIF, not because I liked the show have you, but because my older babysitter did and when Terry-Ann bent over in fits of laughter you could kind of see down her shirt.
The sad thing about this video is that Hanks' poem feels like every other slam poetry reading I've heard, which is why I can never take that stuff seriously. There's no reason to work out your daddy and obesity issues on a public stage. That's what your friends are for. Not guys dragged to a slam poetry session because they're trying to get into some girl's pants they met outside an art school in the village.
