Look, I could go on describing how the new Tom Cruise movie looks like an ultra-high budget action-packed mix of Wall-E with a Twilight Zone episode. I could talk about Morgan Freeman doing his best Morgan Freeman impression. I could even tell you how after watching the trailer with hints of a 'twist' to the narrative all I could think of was Troy McClure singing 'Oh my God, I was wrong. It was earth, all along' in the Planet of the Apes musical he stars in in The Simpsons. But all you really need to know is that it co-stars Olga Kurylenko. You're welcome.
In 2073, ex-Marine Commander Jack Harper is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on an Earth destroyed by an alien invasion 60 years ago. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war, Jack's mission is nearly complete. Currently living in huge airborne towns built in the skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence comes crashing down when he rescues a female stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a series of events that forces him to question everything that he knows about the war from the beginning until now.
Oblivion opens April 26th.
