I grew up near NASA in suburban Houston, TX and half of my friend's parents worked for the aerospace industry. I even knew a couple of astronauts as a kid. There was a feeling, back when I was a child, that we humans had a great future in outer space. It seemed inevitable. Then, slowly, space exploration became less and less important. Now a days Star Trek seems less of a possibility than it did in 1965. We're still sending astronauts up to the International Space Station however so that they can dress in gorilla suits and chase each other around. At least that's what happens in this video made by astronaut Scott Kelly. I happen to know for a fact that they have to compensate for every ounce of weight they take up into space. I have to wonder how many millions of dollars it cost to sneak that ape suit up to space in a climate in which funding for the space program keeps getting cut.
But as long as you have the ape suit in space, you should come up with something better than a simple chase. Maybe reenact scenes from Planet of the Apes. Or maybe just do your effing job instead and boldly go where no one has gone before and all that.
