Robert Griffin III and his fellow rookie Alfred Morris led the Washington Redskins to their third straight win last night, beating the New York Giants 17-16 and closing to within one game of first place in the NFC East. Griffin didn't put up crazy numbers, but he did enough and even when he fumbled, his own team recovered it for a TD.
Morris crossed the 1,000 yard threshold in the game with 124 yards, and is tied for the third in the NFL with 1,106 yards on the season. Griffin broke the NFL rookie QB rushing record set by Cam Newton last year, and his 714 yards are good enough for 21st in the league. RG3 hit on 13 of 21 passes, and stands at third in the NFL in QB rating, just .2 behind Peyton Manning. It's going to be a fight to the finish in that division, and right now it's hard to imagine Dallas and New York aren't sweating big time over Washington.
