The last time we saw Chris Hemsworth wielding the Mjölnir hammer on the silver screen as Thor, he was teaming up with Robert Downy Jr. (Iron Man), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chris Evans (Captain America), Sam Jackson (Nick Fury), and the lovely Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) to stop Tom Hiddleston (Loki) from taking over the earth with his army of evil space aliens. That film, of course, was the The Avengers, and it was awesome. Now Hemsworth is back—or at least, he's sorta getting ready to be almost back—in the new teaser trailer for Thor: The Dark World (a.k.a. Thor 2), which was just released in advance Iron Man 3 hitting cineplexes this weekend.
So what do we learn from this teaser trailer? Well, learn there will be foreboding music, ominous birds, lots of smashing, Natalie Portman, majestic CGI imagery, laser fights, an old guy with an eye patch, some sort of sacrifice, and that Loki guy again.
In other words, we learn next to nothing, and yet it's still so awesome. Oh, and did I mention Natalie Portman? Okay, good.
Thor: The Dark World is scheduled for release in North America on November 8, 2013.
