TV & FILM

I'm not going to lie, I was concerned about the first trailer of Star Trek: Beyond. This new movie is directed by Fast and Furious' Justin Lin and boy does it look it. Lots of explosions and slickness. Not to mention the anachronism of having it set to The Beastie Boys. I love the Beasties and all but not three centuries in the future. This trailer looks a lot better, but I'm still a bit scared. I'm a big Star Trek fan going back to when I was a little kid and I used to watch reruns of Shatner and Nimoy run around cardboard sets. But we all know that the movies are hit or miss. Every other Star Trek movie is usually good. The last Star Trek with Khan was pretty mediocre so the hopes were high for this one.
Maybe it will be good? There does seem to be an awful lot of Scottie. Maybe it's because Simon Peg wrote the script. Tricky.
