The traveling comedy show that is the New York Jets and their embarrassing quarterback situation just keeps getting worse, or better, depending on how you look at it. After Monday's disastrous performance, the team decided to bench Mark Sanchez in favor of GregMcElroy for this weekend's game against the San Diego Chargers. That of course led to speculation about Tim Tebow's future with the Jets.
Now Tebow is reportedly looking for his release or a trade from New York. That's not surprising. He wants to play and the team going with McElroy instead of him is a sign that the coaches don't believe in Tebow. One writer is suggesting that Tebow head to the Canadian League to get more experience. Tebow won't be going north of the border to play. He thinks he can be an NFL quarterback and he's not going to Canada.
Even Michael Vick is now talking about the Jets, saying he won't go there if he's released by the Eagles and the team tries to sign him while Sanchez is there. So basically even making a change that should have happened weeks ago has the Jets making headlines, and none of the news is good. New York should look to trade Sanchez and Tebow, go with McElroy and try to get a team around him. What they're doing now isn't working, and until they get an offense that can do something besides turn the ball over, their good defense is just being wasted.
