‘The Meg’ Honest Trailer is Gay-tham for Statham (VIDEO)

The Meg wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good. As this new Honest Trailer points out, it's basically a movie and its sequel all in the same movie. The biggest issue with the film was the restrictive PG-13 rating. I think this movie would've done just as well had it been R and had they really gone for it. As it was and is, though, it's fine.

"A man made entirely of stubble and growls" definitely got me, and that's the best way I've ever heard anyone describe Jason Statham. Anyone going into The Meg hoping for Crank 3: Chev Chelios vs. Giant Shark was sorely disappointed by the film we got. There were moments where it went bonkers, like Statham riding the Meg into the sky and stabbing it in the eye, but then there'd be twenty minutes of Rainn Wilson just riffing and I'd think, "Didn't we, as a society, say no to Rainn Wilson? How many shots is this guy gonna get?"

I am holding out hope against hope for another Crank movie. Those are some of the most fun movies imaginable, and I think that we need more of that brand of crazy in our lives. The Meg was basically just Sharknado with real actors and better effects. It's out now on DVD and Blu-ray if you care.
