While it had an undeniably great story and awesome stop-motion-esque animation style, it's hard to deny that the cast of 2014's The LEGO Movie wasn't a huge part of the film's success. Thankfully the entire original cast—save Will Ferrell—is back for The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part next month and this new featurette shows some of your favorite cast members in the booth recording their roles for the sequel.
Chris Pratt is back as eternally optimistic construction worker Emmet, along with his gal pal Lucy voiced by Elizabeth Banks, Lucy's ex Batman voiced again by Will Arnett, and their master building pals Metalbeard—voiced by Nick Offerman—and Ultrakatty, the post-apocalyptic version of Unikitty, voiced by Alison Brie. Also along for the ride are the villainous females Sweet Mayhem, voiced by Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Stephanie Beatriz, and Queen Whatevra Wa-Nabi, voiced by Tiffany Haddish.
While it's going to take something out of this world to be better than The LEGO Movie, I think that The LEGO Batman Movie and LEGO Ninjago Movie both helped manage expectations a bit for the LEGO film franchise. Not that either of them were bad, they were just not as good as that first movie.
The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part assembles in theaters on February 8.
