Being the good, honest, generally freaking awesome Ego-man I am, there's one thing I can't ever do: leap into a show or video game mid series/season. That's just not how things are done around here, and Ma didn't raise her no filthy rebel. Where should we always start from? The start, that's where. That's why they call it the start, so you don't start anywhere that isn't the start.

George Lucas may have kicked off Star Wars with episode four, but that's a different matter. This mad bastard inflicted Jar Jar Binks on the world, so what would he know? Anywho, on to another spacetastic epic: Halo.

In the world of FPS games, this is a little less of an issue. You can ignore the campaign (and so the plot itself) completely, and just get your multiplayer on and 360 no scope the night away. But you shouldn't, buddy boy, because after six entries --including Halo Wars and Halo Reach-- the franchise has gotten pretty darn lore-tastic. The war against the covenant has become quite the space soap opera in its own right.

But maybe it's all passed you by. Maybe you were part of the Call of Duty vs Halo crowd, or you might be an anti-Xbox kind of guy. You could also just plain not be assed about Halo at all. But the point is, the Xbox One exclusive fifth installment is inbound. If you are interested, all suddenly like, you'll want to be caught up.

There is an alternative to slogging your way through the whole series prior to Halo 5‘s October 27 release. There's the lazy-ass route. Over on Youtube, Unyshek has put together a fifteen minute summary of the series' story. Get yourself ‘nads deep in this futuristic world of Spartan super soldiers by checking it out below.
