One of my all time favorite movies is the original Exorcist. To me it is a near perfect film. If we use the criterion that a film is successful if it accomplishes its stated goal of their genre, then as a horror movie The Exorcist is a wild success. But, like most great things, it then became a pop culture phenomenon. And that is a double edged sword, especially when it comes to theme parks. I actually have a lot of affection for theme parks, but let's face it, they are gaudy and kind of silly. Universal Studios is bringing The Exorcist to life as a theme park attraction for their Halloween Horror Nights. You will be able to,
"Hear, feel-and even smell-every iconic levitating, head-spinning, vomit-wrenching, skin-crawling moment,”
Smell? I imagine that the exorcism room smelled terrible. I'll pass.
