I don't think anyone ever believed that The Amazing Spider-Man was going to fail to make it's money back. However after it opened in Asia to remarkable box office figures, Marc Webb's reboot might surprise people with the amount that it's going to get.
Across the continent in Korea, India, Japan, the Philippines, Honk Kong, Thailand and Singapore the movie even beat The Avengers total as it took $50.2 million in the region.
When you consider that the film has also been met with a host of strong reviews it seems like the series is set to make quite a heap of change over the next few weeks and months.
The Hollywood Reporter are predicting that it will have a US opening of at least $125 million which will be second to The Avengers $217m. However it would need a monumental effort from Spidey fans to come anywhere near Joss Whedon's superhero epic's total of $1.447 billion.
