The trailer for Kong: Skull Island premiered the last day of the San Diego Comic-Con and it looks more like a war movie than a film about a giant gorilla. This King Kong is almost twice the size of the one from the 30's and 70's versions of the movie. There was also a version done in the 2000's by Peter Jackson but the less said about that the better. This version stars Tom Hiddleston, John Goodman, and Sam Jackson as the dudes that lead the expedition to the titular Skull Island in search of the giant ape. Brie Larson also stars as the girl that Kong falls for probably. I see her being tied to an altar as a sacrifice and a lot of interspecies flirting. No word on if they are going to be taking Kong to New York to scare the tourists that have waited on line for hours to go up to the top of the Empire State Building.
It looks like they may stay on the island for at least the majority of it as they try, in vain, to mess with Kong. It will be interesting to see if on his own turf whether he can prevail this time.
