Deadpool has been one of Marvel's most popular characters over the last 20 years. Fans love his foul mouth, his fourth-wall-breaking sense of humor and, perhaps most importantly, his full-on homicidal tendencies. Unfortunately, those are also the very qualities that have prevented Deadpool from coming to the big screen. Studios don't want to make big budget superhero flicks that 50% of the superhero target audience—i.e., kids—can't legally go see in the theater.
Still, people have tried to get a Deadpool movie made. Director Tim Miller even shot test footage with a CGI Deadpool and voicework by Ryan Reynolds, who played the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. But apparently the footage wasn't enough to get the bigshots over at Fox to greenlight the project.
Now, however, that footage has found its way online. And chances are, after you watch it, you're going to be pissed this movie hasn't been made yet. Because it is awesome.

Reynolds has said he's totally down for doing this movie, and apparently Miller only pitched a $50 million budget so the fact that this would obviously be Rated-R wouldn't hurt the studio's bottom line. But still no takers.
Let's hope this will change now that this footage has seen the light of day.
