Christopher Nolan's final instalment to the Batman series is destined to be one of the biggest movies of the year/decade/millennium.
And with the summer already having been filled with The Hunger Games, The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man flicks each of which made an incredible amount of money and received mainly positive reviews it's now time for The Dark Knight Rises to step up to the plate and early reviews, of course, are positive.
40 to 50 individuals were invited to a screening of the film in the US last week, however they were told not to reveal their reviews until 24 hours before the film's 20th July release. But some journalists couldn't resist taking themselves to Twitter, Facebook and forums to give their thoughts.
Lauren Hiestand (@nickcarterroxs) revealed that "The Dark Knight Rises has just finished screening for the press and critics, receiving a STANDING OVATION!!!" whilst Tom McAuliffe (@tommcauliffe) stated that it was "So much awesome ... can't wait to see it again. And again. And 9 out of 10 for me. I'd put Amazing Spider-Man at a 7.5 and Avenger at an 8.5."
More reactions included an unnamed fan's assessment on Facebook that, "I myself cried twice, once out of sadness and once out of pure, geeky uncontrollable happiness."
All sounds good so far then. But we all knew it would be this way anyway.
