Are you sitting down? I hope so, because the Walking Deadnews I'm about to lay down for you is going to knock you off your f*cking feet. Are you ready?

In season four, Michonne rides a horse! Crazy, right?

But that's not all. The horse has a name: Flame. You know, like fire. How badass is that? Now I bet you're wondering why the producers went with a horse. Luckily, they aren't being tight-lipped about their decision. Executive Producer Gale Ann Hurd told Entertainment Weekly:

With gas at a premium, with the fact that vehicles break down, I think we would return to the days of horseback riding and you can graze them as you go in a place like Georgia. You don't have to carry food for them. They feed themselves, so to speak. It goes along with the new approach this season of sustainability. With a horse, you can go through the woods. You can get around obstacles. You can't do that in a vehicle. If a tree falls and blocks the road, you can't go through the forest. You're not going to make it through. It's actually much more of a useful choice.

Hurd added:

Not only that, but Michonne looks so badass on it.

You see, that type of insight is why people still subscribe to the print edition of Entertainment Weekly. You just can't get that attention to detail with these fly-by-night entertainment blogs.

The Walking Dead returns Sunday, October 13 at 9 p.m. on AMC. Sadly, that's not that far off, which means summer is almost over.
