Capcom announced details yesterday of the first DLC that will be released for their upcoming Devil May Cry reboot. The DLC, titled 'Vergil's Downfall' will focus solely on Dante's brother Vergil and what we can safely assume will be his...downfall.

Exact details of Vergil's Downfall are somewhat scarce, which is expected as DmC: Devil May Cry won't even hit store shelves until January 15, 2013. Capcom has stated that the DLC will feature 'an all new storyline with fresh gameplay including new weapons, combos, enemies, and locations'. On top of all this, the DLC has been confirmed to contain four levels of difficulty and, more importantly, that the DLC will not be included on the disk as Capcom has done in the past, much to the distaste of fans, on titles such as Street Fighter X Tekken or Resident Evil 6.

Fans of the series will note that Vergil's past appearances in the series have placed him as an antagonist. Capcom's reboot looks to be taking the brothers' relationship in a different direction with them being closer to allies than enemies. Of course, the whole 'downfall' part of the title could hint at the DLC focusing on the process of their relationship changing to the sibling rivalry the series is known for.

With the game itself not coming out until early next year, an exact release date for Vergil's Downfall is still unknown but Capcom has confirmed that it will be available shortly after the game's release on January 15, 2013 for 720 MSP on Xbox LIVE or $8.99 on PSN.
