Screen Junkies is still in the midst of navigating some serious allegations against its Honest Trailers creator, but that hasn't stopped them from still producing a great new HT for Spider-Man: Homecoming. They obviously go for all the low-hanging fruit in the film, while still being forced to admit that the film is pretty great and the first really good Spider-Man movie.
Most of the trailer's best digs are reserved for the leaps in logic required to understand the various plans by the various characters in the film. Of course there are the requisite digs at Tom Holland's Peter Parker for being on the phone all time—Millennials, amirite?—as well as the subbing in of Tony Stark as Spidey's absentee father figure, but really they're kinda stretching it thin with some of their criticisms.
I would be hard-pressed to call Spider-Man: Homecoming anything short of the best Spider-Man movie and a Top 5 MCU movie. It brought a ton of fun and excitement back to a character who has been lacking both, and has found himself trapped in mope-fest after mope-fest for the last decade-plus. Fans of the character should be happy that he's finally been done justice, but there's enough in this Honest Trailer to get a chuckle out of even the most ardent defender of the film.
