Ubisoft confirmed on Twitter today that the company has acquired both THQ's Montreal office and the publishing rights to the highly anticipated South Park: The Stick of Truth. THQ has been winding it's way through a bankruptcy process for the last several months and speculation over it's pending slate of titles ran in every direction with all sorts of potential solutions and problems. The WWE titles have been big sellers for THQ for a generation while promising franchises like Company of Heroes and South Park were scheduled for high profile releases in the just the next few months. Now we know the fate of South Park: The Stick of Truth at least. Consider the marketing muscle Ubisoft threw at Assassin's Creed III in late 2012 (there's a reason you saw so many commercials during football games and SportsCenter; some of the priciest cable time out there), a South Park game should get plenty of attention. As a THQ property, Stick of Truth was scheduled for a March 5 release. Now that the game is a Ubisoft project, expect that date to change. We'll have more details on what the change could look like, as soon as possible.
