About two thirds of the way through the trailer for Sleeping with Other People, a quote from the New York Post pops up on the screen, forcing you to stop fantasizing about dating, marrying, having kids, and growing old with Alison Brie, and read.
"Come for the sex jokes," the quote says. "Then be knocked out by the heart."
Is that true? Will we all be knocked out by the heart of Sleeping with Other People? That remains to be seen. The first part was definitely right, though. There are plenty of sex jokes. So don't go see this with your mom.
Sleeping with Other People is about a pair of former hook-ups (Brie and Jason Sudekis) who are reunited at a sex-addicts meeting, become friends, and vow not to ruin their friendship by getting busy, only to fall in love with each other.
Or as director Leslye Hedland more succinctly put it, it's "When Harry Met Sally for a-holes."
Sounds good to me.
Sleeping with Other People hits theaters August 21, 2015.
