We waited years for a sequel to our favorite open world RPG...and Bethesda came through with Skyrim.

We have waited months for any details of the upcoming 'Dawnguard' DLC...and Bethesda gave us this.

While I'd love to simply spend the next couple hours thanking Bethesda for releasing a trailer for Skyrim's first DLC, I will practice self control and simply say...it looks awesome.

The trailer, which you can see over at the official Skyrim site, really makes it clear that 'Dawnguard' is no mere DLC pack. It doesn't come with a couple new maps and a new character skin, it doesn't give us a unique set of weapons that will end up being not so great. No my friends, Dawnguard bombards viewers with everything we've been asking for and so much more. There's a lot of new content coming our way from the looks of this trailer, including a new deadly form players can take that allows them to float around, feast on human souls and generally scare the shit out of me. It also seems as though earlier rumors reported regarding snow elves may have actually been accurate, which is pretty uncommon considering they're rumors.

Dawnguard is currently set as an Xbox 360 exclusive but you can guarantee that a PS3 and PC version will be soon to follow.

Like what you see? Make sure to stay tuned to Egotastic! because we'll be bringing you more as the mothership that is E3 arrives next week.

Update: Microsoft has just announced that they are now accepting applicants for the beta testing of Dawnguard. If you want to sign up, just make a Bethesda forums account if you don't have one already and head over HERE. What's even more awesome is that this 'beta' version will, in fact, be the full length DLC, complete with achievements. If you're chosen from the beta, you'll be given a LIVE code to obtain the DLC, which means you won't be paying for it when it's officially released.
