GAMING

Someone send a robot back in time to contact John Connor because the robots are starting to take over. Believe it or not, gamers could soon be seeing a new wave of innovation in the video game industry...a scary innovation.
The console is ominously called OTON X and has been created by a relatively unknown company called EnGeniux. No, it doesn't really have the same ring as Skynet but maybe that's the point. EnGeniux's promise to gamers is that the OTON X will be able to self-generate games without any sort of human input.
EnGeniux is proud to introduce our new next generation game console - OTON. OTON will be the first smart mechanized autonomous game console. What does this mean? OTON will be able to self-create games instantly within minutes without human input. No drag or drop requirements.
Are you scared yet? You should be.
All the details of our enslaved future can be found on OTON's official site. On said page, possible contributors can find a Kickstarter-esque donation system at the top. It hasn't raised much at this point but maybe that's just because everyone's too afraid to contribute to the extinction of mankind. Just a theory...
EnGeniux makes a lot of impressive promises throughout the contents of their site, most of which I simply can't see happening. I'm not trying to say that OTON will be a complete flop but, at this point, it just seems highly unlikely that this will actually succeed. Games that can be generated automatically within minutes (if even possible) would definitely be a bland mash of the same elements put together in different ways and labelled something completely new.
It looks to me like EnGeniux is just trying to play off of Ouya's massive success this past year by introducing something that looks awkward and promises more than could ever be possible. Check out the OTON for yourself and contribute if you feel confident enough in it's abilities as anything other than a tool of human extermination.
