Seven New ‘The Hobbit’ Posters Tease an Unexpected Journey

J.R.R. Tolkien was never one to mince words. The Lord of the Rings trilogy was aptly titled, since it was all about the One Ring. The prequel that started it all, The Hobbit, will be hitting the big screen this December and it's just as appropriately titled as well, since it tells the tale of Bilbo Baggins' grand adventure.

We've still got close to a month before the movie opens, which is far longer than most Tolkien fans would like. To tide everyone over until the big return to Middle Earth, seven new banners for The Hobbit were released, featuring key characters and familiar faces from the franchise like Gandalf the Grey, Elrond, and of course, Bilbo.

The first movie in the new trilogy, The Hobbit, opens on December 14th.
