Athletes are under increased scrutiny to make sure that they don't use performance enhancing drugs. That goes for Paralympic athletes as well. They too have been caught doping. But some enterprising parathletes have figured out a way to give them an extra boost without taking any drugs that will show up in their system. It's called scrotum squeezing and it is exactly what it sounds like. If you sit on your nuts, even if you are paralyzed, the brain releases endorphines and adrenaline in a process called autonomic dysreflexia. This gives you a little extra boost. Parathletes have apparently been abusing their nutsacks for years. It's pretty ingenious, if you think about it, especially if you can't feel your balls anyway.
But the Paralympic committee is on to them. But I don't really see what they can do to stop it. How are you going to keep them from abusing their nuts before an event? Have ball guards? I think they might just have to live with it.
