Samsung and AT&T have just announced the Rugby Smart, the mobile that's geared for people with an active lifestyle. The handset runs on Android and is slated for release on March 4.
The Rugby Smart is a mid-level device that is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread. However, what sets it apart is its ruggedized shell that protects it from the elements. You can drop it, get it wet, accidentally step on it (hey, this could happen in real life), even leave it out in the sweltering heat of the sun--and you'd still have a fully-functional phone by the end of the day.
According to Samsung and AT&T, not only is the Rugby Smart dustproof, but it's also waterproof and can be submerged in up to 1m of water for 30 minutes and withstand "extreme temperatures." Here are the specifications for the device:
The Rugby Smart is priced at $99.99 if you get a two-year contract with AT&T.
