Sam Raimi still clearly holds a torch for the film that made him famous. Despite helming the hugely popular Spiderman franchise, 2009's incredibly enjoyable Drag Me to Hell and currently being hard at work on a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, entitled Oz : The Great and Powerful, Raimi has taken time out of his busy schedule to block a fourth addition to his Evil Dead series that he hadn't authorized. Why he didn't work just as hard to block Spiderman 3 from ever seeing the light of day is beyond me.
Nevertheless, a California federal judge has imposed a permanent injunction against Award Pictures from ever working on a proposed sequel to the trilogy, Evil Dead 4 : Consequences. Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Robert Tapert filed this lawsuit back in May as the above movie conflicted with the trio's plans to film their own fourth instalment.
But fans of the original shouldn't expect Raimi to be sitting in the director's chair again for the new adventure of Ash Williams, instead the torch is being passed onto Uruguayan director Fede Alvarez.C
