CELEBS
Echo Lawrence - February 17, 2025
Last night, Saturday Night Live commemorated its 50th anniversary with a star studded special, opening with a heartfelt performance by Paul Simon and Sabrina Carpenter, who are somehow both 5 foot tall.
The duo delivered a touching rendition of Simon's classic "Homeward Bound," echoing his memorable 1976 duet with George Harrison. Carpenter, acknowledging the generational gap, humorously noted that she wasn't born at the time of the original performance.
The celebration continued with a lineup of notable appearances, including Steve Martin, who delivered the opening monologue, and musical performances by Miley Cyrus, Lil Wayne, and Paul McCartney. The event also featured a special tribute to SNL creator Lorne Michaels, highlighting his enduring impact on the show and comedy at large.
For those who missed the live broadcast, highlights and exclusive clips from the anniversary special are apparently available on SNL's official website. But here's a short clip from Sabrina and Paul's performance!
