Bow Down to Robert Griffin III, the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month

No big shocker here as Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for September. RG3 is following the blueprint of Cam Newton's rookie year rather nicely, too. Griffin became just the third rookie to throw for 1,000 yards in the first four weeks of a season, joining fellow rookie Ryan Tannehill this season and Newton. Griffin had four rushing TDs in his first four games, just like Newton.

Newton ended his rookie campaign with 21 TDs in the air and 14 on the ground. So far this year, Griffin has 4 passing TDs and 4 rushing. If RG3 can keep up these paces, he might break some of the rookie marks set by Newton last year, but I'd venture a guess that he'd be much happier to smash Newton's win total of six. Just a hunch.
