Robert De Niro was doing great at keeping the Trump hate under wraps but he recently slipped up. It was first reported that he had banned Trump from all Nobu restaurants, but that was quickly corrected. His PR team stated Robert did not ban the President of the United States but if Trump happened to stroll into the same Nobu restaurant that Robert was eating at, De Niro would have no problem leaving the expensive unfinished sashimi on the table and making a beeline towards the exit. Ballsy. But Robert is at a point in his career where he no longer needs anymore gigs to get by. He fully came out of the closet at the Tony Awards, making his disdain for Trump public. Robert did not miss his opportunity to let an “F Trump” fly. Australians received an uncensored broadcast and there was a mixture of confusion, hesitant clapping, and a couple of “crikey mate, this again” experienced in the Down Under that night.
Robert De Niro ended up getting bleeped Sunday night at the Tony Awards when he dropped some f-bombs about President Donald Trump while introducing a performance by Bruce Springsteen.
"First, I wanna say, 'f**k Trump,'" De Niro said. "It's no longer 'Down with Trump,' it's 'f**k Trump.'"
Honestly all De Niro managed to do was create a distraction. Let’s focus on who the real villains are here. Amy Schumer was nominated for best actress in a leading role in a play. An “F Amy Schumer” would have been way more appropriate. Even worth a standing ovation. Because no one that mediocre at their craft should be allowed to become that famous.
