RIP: Batman (1943 – 2013)

As far as I'm concerned right now, the Dark Knight is dead. Thursday's announcement cast a pall over the world of Batman and those of us who love him. Ben 'Gigli' Affleck will be taking up the cowl in a move that just baffles and annoys. We're all but assured a terrible Man of Steel sequel. Bet on it.

It light of all of that, the Caped Crusader had a solid 70 year onscreen run.  Let's take a moment to remember some of the greats. Here are the best of the batmen; the only batmen in our callous nerd hearts.
