Remove Timeline Scam Targets Unhappy Facebook Users

Do you hate the Time Line view on your Facebook account. If you do then you are not by any means alone. May end users have the double column view of time line and the back-and-forth postings. Some surveys have show that more than 80 percent of workers, some estimates say up to 86% of end users have serious privacy or aesthetic concerns about the newest format that Facebook has forced upon its end users.

Getting rid of it however is not really that easy, as a matter of fact for the time being it is not really possible at all. That has not stopped one intrepid scammer from trying to get you to think that it is possible, if you are willing to install their spacial software to get rid of it. The scam was originally uncovered by Sophos, showing the link that will come in a message. The link takes you to a recently created site, based in Turkey, with dubious credentials. For now the site is still be analysed, but better safe then sorry when it comes to software of unknown origin. For now even the site itself warns users outside of Turkey to not download it. Unfortunately that warning in is Turkish, even though the rest of the site is not.

I know what is going through your mind. What kind of idiots think that installing a browser add on will change the coding of Facebooks site? Well, as it turns out there are a stunning number of idiots in the world. The kind who enjoy sites, without understanding how they work even on a basic level.
