SUPEREGO

It has not been a good year for the Philly Faithful. Their feared pitching staff can't scare a little league batter. Their offense is okay. Injuries have decimated the ranks. The team has gone from a perennial World Series contender to the bottom of the barrel. There simply hasn't been much to cheer about. That is, until now.
All-Star slugger Ryan Howard finally made it back from the Achilles tendon injury he suffered during the 2011 postseason a little more than a week ago. As could be expected, the man has to work himself back into the groove. In Monday's game against the Dodgers he proved that he's on the right track by blasting his first home run of the season deep over the left field fence. The Phillies went on to win 3-2.
Welcome back Ryan. We've missed you.
