I will admit when I'm wrong. Wait, sorry, no, that's not right--I would never do that. See? What I'm referring to though is Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby. While it stars Carrie Mulligan, Isla Fisher(and also some guys named Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire), I still was pretty iffy about it and put it on our list of ten films from next year that look like they might suck.
But the new trailer for the film based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's most famous novel has been released today and it looks a lot more Moulin Rouge-esque than Australia-esque which is what I was afraid of. But I'm like a baby or agile cat, my eye is attracted to bright, shiny things and this thing looks like it burns brighter than that nuke Indy survived in the fridge. So I don't know, we'll see--but there's a lot of energy in the trailer and it makes the 20s look livelier than today.
The Great Gatsby opens May 10th.
