What did you do for National Video Games Day last week? If you’re anything like me, you probably spent it with a miserable-ass scornful look on your face, because you’re pissed off with all this BS that people make up. Â
Now, I enjoy video games as much as the next guy. Probably a whole damn lot more, depending on who said guy is. But there is no day. There never was a day, there never will be a day. Genuine national holidays are something else entirely, natch, but all this hashtag crap needs to stop.
All of that said, though, something happened during this ‘celebration’ that I can totally get on board with. A dog showed the world its hadouken-throwing chops. The Internet is hardly short of dogs-and-cats-do-things videos, true enough, but I give this one my full support and seventeen thumbs up.
Just about every gamer will be familiar with that quarter circle motion, and the iconic Street Fighter fireball it produces. It’s super simple, and ingrained into most of our brains forever. Still, props to this little guy for being the first canine in history to master it, with a little help from Jess Bell:

Yep. That wasn’t just a hadouken, that was an EX hadouken. Because when dogs get their game on, they don’t eff around. Good boy.
