Our Nation’s Military Can See ‘White House Down’ for Free If They Want to Spend July 4th Alone

I've got good news for military men and women who like empty theaters! All active duty military personnel and military veterans are being offered free tickets to White House Down on July 4th at any Regal Entertainment Group, AMC Theatres, Cinemark Theatres, or Carmike Cinemas theater. They are even allowed to bring a guest. Military ID will be required, and the seats will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis. But don't worry about getting there early. If the box office returns are to be believed, there will be plenty of seats for our fighting men and women and their families. And their extended families. And their pets.

I shouldn't poke fun. It's actually a really nice gesture. Of course, it's a gesture that's being made after the movie has already tanked. It's also a gesture that is being announced only one day before the 4th. But even so, it's a nice gesture all the same. And to be honest, despite its poor showing, I've heard only good things about the film (assuming you're in the mood for an Emmerich film). So if you're military, go see it. Or go get drunk at a barbecue. It's up to you. Happy 4th!
