TV & FILM

With the release of Aquaman still a solid three months away, it didn't seem likely there would be an TV spots until closer to the film's late December release. DC is obviously chomping at the bit to get their latest superhero adventure in theaters, as they've already created a TV spot for the film.
As for the footage, with the exception of the last shot of the TV spot, there's nothing new here. There is a new line of dialogue from Patrick Wilson's Ocean Master, however, as right at the 19 second mark we hear him say, "Go home, Arthur. You're not going to win this." Whether that's said threateningly before the two lock horns in combat or perhaps as a warning before Aquaman facing an even greater danger to come remains to be seen.
While I don't think much of Jason Momoa as an actor—he's perfectly fine and serviceable at what he does—I must admit that I'm at least a little bit excited for this movie. There's no reason an Aquaman movie should have ever been made, let alone one with this kind of budget and seriousness of tone. Just the fact that there's an Aquaman movie, in and of itself, is kind of weird and exciting for anyone who grew up on comic books.
Aquaman swims into theaters on December 21.
