TV & FILM
bill-swift - November 20, 2012
This one kind of snuck up on me out of nowhere. How did a film starring Morgan Freeman, Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Caine, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisherand Melanie Laurent fly so low under the radar for so long? Is it possible because it looks like Penn & Teller took the pages to the scripts of The Prestige and Jumper and shuffled the two together before doing some sleight of hand tricks for the audience? All signs point to yes.
I could share the film's plot with you, but a magician never reveals his secrets! Also because it's super convoluted and confusing and I'm still wrapping my head around it. But this group of magicians who may or may not actually be magical magicians use their talents to get back at Bernie Madoff, which pisses Mark Ruffalo off and he has to then convince Morgan Freeman to do a voiceover for him. Whatever, it looks cool, you'll see it.
