One of the largest reveals of E3 was undoubtedly Nintendo 'Wii U'. Stupid name aside, it actually looks like a pretty solid system. I've expressed my belief that it won't stand a chance once Sony and Microsoft unleash their behemoths unto us but until then, Nintendo's the one with the shiny new toy...and oh how it shines.
When no release date or price was announced at E3, the gaming community took to the net and the rumors began to fly on possible release dates and prices ranging from pocket change to a small fortune.
A neat little find on Amazon's UK website has revealed the Wii U listed as being available for £199.99 or around $250 on July 14, 2012. This is a pretty low number and could mean Nintendo fans will be able to get Wii U right at launch AND pay rent...crazy, I know.
There have been other similar postings in the past from, what have been considered to be, credible sources so there's no way of truly knowing at this point whether this is the real deal or another dead end. I do find it somewhat odd that it would be releasing so early when everyone is assuming a much further release, somewhere in the 2012 holiday season.
