New ‘Resident Evil Revelations 2’ Monsters Are Pretty Effing Ugly, Who Knew?

Ah, Resident Evil. Your enemy designs are enough to make all the hairs on my scrote stand on end. Sure, you stole a couple of them from the movies (‘Generic Dude With Sack On Head And Chainsaw' springs to mind), but those were just homages and nobody needs to sue anybody else.

Snark aside, the series has brought us some great monsters. Remember the Garrador, that hulking dude with the Wolverine claws and the sewn-up eyes who wanted to make a pincushion out of your colon? Of course you do. The Lickers, the Tyrant, Nemesis, Lisa Trevor, those damn dogs that barrel through the window and make you shit yourself... it's all good. Damn good.

Since the actiontastic fourth game, plain ol' zombies has taken a back seat. We've seen people infected by the Las Plagas parasite, and the Majini. In the original Revelations, we were introduced to the Ooze. For the sequel, we've got some charming new enemies known as the Afflicted. There's more than a whiff of Silent Hill about them, and Capcom have just unveiled two new additions to their ranks.

The ugly bastard above is known as Othrus, a irritating little pack hunter that can quickly overwhelm you. There's also that old favorite the Sploder, which you'll have to dispatch from a distance lest it Splode all over you when attacked.
